We have had a great start-up in Grade One. The children are becoming familiar with routines and expectations and we are all learning more about each other every school day.
Some Highlights of Our Learning:
-Working in our Visual Journals to draw and label pictures to match the colours we have been exploring.
-Learning to read colour words, as well as some beginning sight words (see, me).
-Singing a multitude of colour songs, action songs and alphabet songs.
-Using colour cubes to create and name a variety of patterns (AB, AAB, ABC, ABB etc.)
-Going to music class with Mrs. Fatica.
-Going to the gym to learn the "Git Up" dance with Mrs. O.
-Working in our Friday Books. Thanks to the parents who took the time to respond to their child last week. Please look for Friday Books coming home again today.
