Tomorrow is PINK SHIRT DAY

Highlights of Our Learning
-We are learning about the __est word family this week. We enjoyed the story The Best Nest and have been working on reading and printing as many ___est words as we can.
-We are continuing to talk, learn and write about kindness. What does kindness look like? How can we show kindness?
-Yesterday, the students used a picture of animals in winter as a writing prompt. They were also introduced to a writing rubric that illustrated that their BEST work will include a combination of copied and self-selected sentence starters and interesting details and describing words. It is expected that students will now complete three sentences during writing times.

-Please ensure that you have read the recent email that was sent from out school office. The link is posted below incase you missed it.
-We are continuing to look for volunteers for our two upcoming special events, felting and swimming.
Save the Dates!

The grade one students would like you to make note of some upcoming special events. We will require volunteers for these activities. All volunteers MUST have a current CBE police clearance in order to volunteer, and therefore we strongly recommend that you complete the paperwork for this A.S.A.P. Please drop by the school office with picture ID to complete this application. If you already have clearance and would like to volunteer, please let you child’s teacher know.

Please note the following dates. Times have yet to be confirmed.

Wet Felting (In-school activity) – April 8th and 9th.
Morning Swimming Lessons (Bus to Canyon Meadows Pool) – May 4th-8th.

Have a good evening!
